OK so it happened again here a few times recently and it seems to be more often, anyway happened to me this morning.

I went out to go to work started the truck and same routine, when i popped the hood and got to the routine i noticed that there was some fuel residue on the top of the filter housing.

Well my thoughts are leading to a leaky oring on the primer button. Went shopping today for the oring and of course autozone didnt have it and kother parts stores were closed by the time i got there due to traffic.

Stopped by the dealer and they of course tell me that there arent any orings besides the ones for the filter in the housing while looking at a diagram of the part, well i had to point out the one for the primer button to them . After all this i am informed that the parts cant be bought seperatly and that its a 400+ dollar part .

My question to yall is any of the tech or vendors here sell the oring seperatly?

Sorry that was so long

I'd pick up a new filter housing, (no new but off a parted out engine, new ones from GM cost an arm and a leg) and also a kit to replace the seals and o-rings in the one you have. Odd are very high that will solve your problem. You might want to install a lift pump as well, I think they will aid in making your CP pump last longer and you probably will never have a prime issue again. I like the ones that Kennedy and TTS have. Totally quiet and work well.

Yeah i was thinking about that when i saw the fuel on the filter housing.

I forgot to add the other day i was on the highway stuck behind on of those no driving asses that pulled in front of me while we were traveling the same speed then for no reason slowed to 50 from our 70 . Anyway i hit it to go around and then after i got in front the truck felt like it had no power and i quickly slowed to around 65 or so(about 2200 RPM's) and it wouldnt go over that. I eventually pulled off on my exit and i pulled into a car wash and revved the engine and of course wouldnt go over 2200 2300 RPM, i had to shut the truck off pump and bleed the air and repump then restart for it to fix itself.

There was air in the line so i am really leaning towards what he said that the oring is bad in there and it sucked air into it when i leaned hard on the throttle(foot to floor). I hit it tonight cause i had to pull out blind onto a road and didnt want to cause issues and it didnt seem to make the same cloud as it did before and didnt seem right when it was accelerating.

So anyway thanks for the advice and ill post up when i get it changed and again does anyone here know where i can buy just this oring for the primer button or the rebuild kit for the entire assembly?

The problem you are having is caused by the fuel filter head needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I did the rebuild on mine and it is easy to do as did a friend of mine that had the same problems as you. Dmax store sells a oring kit to do this for like $20 or a complete head for like $100. they are a online store dmaxstore.com or contact mike at 916-835-2438. The orings dry out and crack from the low sulfer fuel and then start getting air by usally happens between 70 and 100k, some go longer some less. Not every oring in the head gets replaced only 4 or 5 of them do and you have to remove the filter head off the truck to do it.Hope this helps everyone.

Just updatin the thread, thanks for all the inputs but the ones who said leaky filter housing nailed it.

Anyway i ordered the kit and it came in last night and i installed everything, worked like a charm.

This is the kit i got.http://dmaxstore.com/index.php?main_...roducts_id=306

Only advice i have for it is removing the inake tube and box to gain easier access to the bottom fuel hose and taking off the intake side intercooler boot all together. Only other thing is the high pressure fuel hose, make sure you measure the bottom hose first laying it over the new hose and cut exact(there is just enough left for the other hose replacment.
