Odd are very high that will solve your problem. You might want to install a lift pump as well, I think they will aid in making your CP pump last longer and you probably will never have a prime issue again. I like the ones that Kennedy and TTS have. Totally quiet and work well.
I think this post hits the nail on the head.

If it starts then the filter assembly has a leak somewhere if it doesnt the lift pump is bad, am i on the right track there?
James, when did you get a lift pump?

Ok this is bugging me, i really want to say its cause of low fuel when it does it but it happened again yesterday.

My driveway is at a decent slope and i was waiting till the next day to get fuel, well i went out yesterday to go to work and i start it, runs fine for a few seconds and then sputters out, wont start again till i prime it and bleed the air out. I bled it and again a decent ammount of air came out, where is the factory pick up in the tank?

Is it in the front of the tank or rear cause i park with the nose of the truck up in the air cause the driveway, if its in the front its cause of low fuel level and thats what is happening.

What size is the fuel line so when this happens again i can unplug it and stick in a test filter to start the truck and see if it gets fuel then. Or would that even matter since i can hand prime the damn thing and bleed out the air from the filter location, that makes me thing the factory pump is working just fine cause it gets the fuel to the filter housing.

So yall think its what ya said the filter housing is goin bad as far as the o-rings?

alright again it happened when leavin the house for work today, again i had put off fueling the truck so it was low and im posative this is my answer.

when sitting in the driveway with low fuel nose higher then rear of truck is when it does it, my question is where is the location for the stock fuel pump front or rear of tank? i have looked but have had no luck on my phone with finding anything on the net.

im gonna say its in the front of the tank.

James, it's basically in the middle. Here is a picture. The part near the bottom of the picture is the "front" and the opening on the right of the tank is coming in from the filler neck.

Ok then im stumped again, i may eventually get really annoyed of this and snag up an extra filter housing and replace the o-rings but im fine with bleeding it occasionally. Ill just keep it above a 1/4 from now on and see if that helps(basically i need to stop being lazy and go fill the damn thing when i should).

My bet would be the fuel pickup in the tank is bad. Couple of things that can and do happen. There is a small one way flap in the bottom that holds fuel in the pickup cup that can have something stuck under it. The second thing is there is a passageway that runs along the outside bottom of the pickup cup that has a plastic plug/cap that comes out. Both of these will allow th efuel to drain out of the pickup cup when fuel is low and parked nose high.

There is NO fuel pump in the tank so if the cup drains down you will suck air into the system.

Ok thats what i was thinking is happening but when Dave posted that pic my thoughts went back to the other suggestions of the filter housing being bad.
